A windscreen repair is the process of filling a chip with resin in an effort to contain the damage from spreading further in to a crack which requires windscreen replacement. By doing this the strength of the windscreen is retained and the optical clarity of the chip is improved.
We recommend you repair your windscreen as soon as possible. Built up dirt and moisture in the the chip over time will reduce the quality of a repair.

When & Why To Repair |
We perform windscreen repairs when the size of a chip is no larger than a 20 cent piece outside of the drivers critical vision area and under the size of a 5 cent piece in the drivers critical vision area. Every chip is unique and needs to be assessed on every occasion. Results will vary depending on many factors such as size, type, age & severity.

FAQ |
Will The Damage Disappear?
This is an important question and one that you should understand before undertaking a windscreen repair. A repair will always improve the clarity of the chip and you can expect it to appear much duller but it will not make the damage disappear. Depending on the type of damage to your windscreen you can expect a chip clarity improvement of between 60-95%. But more importantly it will improve the strength of the windscreen to stop the damage from spreading. It is important to understand that the main reason you choose to repair is to stop the chip from spreading in to a crack. If you want the damage to disappear then a replacement windscreen is a better solution. |
